SUMMARY:Adult Workshop: SAWW Chainsaw Training\, Level II
DESCRIPTION:Please note: This workshop will be held at our Black Earth location. \nScroll down for directions and to view a map of the location. \nPhoto Credit: Matt Smith\nParticipants in Level 2 SAWW training will spend time both outside and inside the classroom\, practicing techniques to operate chainsaws safely\, comfortably\, and productively. \nTopics covered include: basic chainsaw maintenance\, review of the cutter tooth and hands-on sharpening\, introduction to wedges\, planning and executing tree felling\, planning and executing limbing and bucking. Level 2 participants will sharpen their own saws\, may fell trees against lean and learn advanced bucking techniques. \nHands-on training gives participants the opportunity to fell or buck at least one tree. \nPhoto Credit: Matt Smith\nInstructor: Luke Saunders\, Forester with Adaptive Restoration LLC\, SAWW-certified trainer\, experienced sawyer and horse logger \nPlease Bring: Participants must bring a safety helmet\, and are encouraged to bring PPE\, chainsaw and any tools used to maintain the saw and sharpen chain. Please bring a bag lunch. Water is available on site. \nPlease note: Class limit is 12 and may be canceled if not enough registrants are obtained (minimum is 9). You will be notified of a cancellation and a full refund will be given if the class is cancelled. \nPre-Registration is required.  \nRefunds will only be given to those who cancel 7 or more days before a program. All refunds are subject to a 15% administrative fee.\n\nIf Aldo Leopold Nature Center cancels a program\, a full refund will be given.\n \n \nFees: ALNC Members & Non-members: $135 \n  \n \n
