DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED FOR OCTOBER\nWith great consideration of the health of our community and following the recommendations of Public Health Madison and Dane County\, the Land Steward Work Day in October has been canceled. \nWe invite you to continue to hike our trails\, in a self-guided manner\, while also practicing safe social distancing. Getting outside and spending time in nature can boost your immune system\, reduce anxiety and release pent up energy.  \nThank you for your support and please stay tuned to our homepage for more information on programming as the days unfold. \n  \n\n \nLand Stewards & Restorationists — We Need YOU! \nInterested in helping restore and maintain ALNC’s prairie\, marsh and woodlands? Join us one Saturday a month\, March through October\, to help control invasive species\, seed with native plants\, get dirty and have some fun! Volunteer work days will focus mainly on land management and other projects as needed. Work days may be cancelled or planned activities modified due to inclement weather. \nHere are just a few Land Steward projects: \n\nCut honeysuckle and other unwanted brush\nMulching\nTrail maintenance\nPull garlic mustard and other invasive species\nTransplant wildflowers\nCollect and label seeds\nGarden work\nPick up litter\n\nJoin us for one of our upcoming volunteer work days! Larger groups — please call ahead. Otherwise\, simply show up and ALNC staff will greet you upon arrival.
