SUMMARY:Vacation Day: Great Backyard Bird Count at ALNC!
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, people from all over the country come together to count birds for the Great American Backyard Bird Count\, a citizen science project that monitors bird populations. Each checklist submitted helps researchers at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology learn more about how birds are doing\, and how to protect them and the environment we share.  In addition to collect this info\, we’ll hike using binoculars to search for birds\, fill bird feeders\, and have all sorts of feathery fun!  \nCost: $55/child for full day (9am-4pm) \nPlease pack a sack lunch. AM and PM snacks provided. \nAdditional info:\n— Vacation Day programming is designed for ages 5-12. Attendees will be split into groups according to age so material may be adjusted accordingly.\n— Please send your child with appropriate clothing to spend the majority of the day outdoors and bug spray and/or sunscreen if appropriate. \nExtended Day is available from 8-9am and 4-5:30pm at an additional cost.  \nRegister for any Winter Vacation Day programs in December\, January and February by clicking the button below.\nWe are piloting a new registration system for ALNC’s Winter Vacation Day programs.
