SUMMARY:Vacation Day: Exploring Ecosystems
DESCRIPTION:How can so many animals share one tree? Does the forest get crowded with all those birds and squirrels? We will learn about the many different animals that call Wisconsin home. From the prairie to the pond to the forest\, we will learn about the different ecosystems and all the animals that can be found there. \nCost: $55/child (10% discount for members) \nAdditional info:\n— Vacation Day programming is designed for ages 5-12. Attendees will be split into groups according to age so material may be adjusted accordingly.\n— Please send your child with a sack lunch\, an extra set of clothing\, appropriate clothing to spend the majority of the day outdoors\, and bug spray and/or sunscreen if appropriate.\n— ALNC provides a morning and afternoon snack. \nExtended Day is available from 8:30-9am and 4-5:30pm at an additional cost. SUMMARY:Girl Scout Program: Navigating with Stars & Satellites Overnight (Juniors)
DESCRIPTION:Discover all that can be found in nature with this overnight trip to the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Black Earth! Sit around the campfire\, share stories and watch the stars light up the night sky. We will learn how to identify constellations and take a night hike. After breakfast (provided)\, we will find our way by GPS\, discovering hidden treasure on the trails at our Black Earth campus. \nAdditional details: This event is at our Black Earth campus\, see below for location details. Indoor accommodations are available for all registrants however scouts are welcome to bring tents to camp outside if they would prefer. Campfire snack and breakfast will be provided.
