Pants-raiser!

December 3, 2024 - January 19, 2025

Winter is coming and we are in need of backup clothing to keep the children participating in our programs warm. While the children are discovering the wonders of nature, they have plenty of opportunities for hands-on experiences and may need a change of clothing in case someone falls in the mud or in the pond, perhaps gets wet playing in the snow… and then, of course, there’s the occasional accident.

We could use your help

Take a peek through your child’s closet and pass along those gently-used clothes and footwear that no longer fits in support of community-based environmental education at ALNC. The items we need most are:

  • PANTS (no jeans): preferably elastic waist in sizes 4T – 12/14
  • SOCKS: cotton or wool socks for kids ages 3-12
  • FOOTWEAR: shoes, winter boots, rain boots in little kids size 7 to adult size 6
  • HATS & MITTENS: all youth sizes

Other items to donate:

  • Disposable hand warmers
  • Snow shovels
  • Sidewalk chalk
  • Wooden paint brushes
  • Dump truck toys or similar vehicles
  • Metal utensils for mud kitchen
  • Art supplies (construction paper, markers, crayons, white copy paper)
  • Ziplock bags (gallon size)
  • Laminating sheets (3 & 5ml – not the pouch kind)
  • Small fidgets
  • Kleenex
  • Coffee

Please bring any items you care to donate to the ALNC lobby from December 3rd to January 19th. Thank you!
