Adult Summer Camp

July 12 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Reserve your tickets now for ‘Camp Aldo’, the fundraising event of the summer!

Register for Adult Summer Camp Here

Featuring summer camp activities and locally-brewed beverages, ‘Camp Aldo’ is an exciting day of adventure, fun, and games in support of children’s outdoor education programs at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center. For the price of admission, attendees will receive a souvenir cup to fill with the beer and beverages (alcoholic and not) of their choice as they enjoy a camp experience designed for them. Add-on this year’s t-shirt or sign-up for the Ultimate Relay…This is THE event of the summer that will have you reminiscing about your own camp days.

The minimum suggested donation is $60. Tickets include reusable event cup and unlimited beverages (alcoholic and n/a beer as well as other non-alcoholic options), but not food from the food carts.

Campers must be 21 years of age by the event date to register for Adult Summer Camp. The rain date is Sunday, July 13th.

Games, songs, crafts, competition, and adventure await at this unique event that will have you feeling nostalgic for summer camp!

Bring your reusable water bottle or buy one at the event! Madison Water Utility will be onsite with the water bubbler, helping us limit plastic waste at Camp Aldo.

When you Arrive:

Meet at Ahuska Park to ride the Camp Bus OR park along Femrite Drive to hike in. Stop at the Welcome Table to check-in and receive your camp packet, including your reusable, insulated cup.

Schedule of Activities:

Many activities will be available throughout the event, while others will only be offered for a limited time. The fun kicks off at 2 PM and continues with a packed schedule:

2 PM: Meet at Ahuska Park to bus over to the grounds (buses will be running to and from Ahuska throughout the entire event)
2:30-3 PM: Dig through the Sand for prizes or play Rubber Chicken Basket Catch thanks to our friends at Keva Sports Center.
3:15-3:45 PM: Enjoy Water Play or compete in the Air Pressure Rocket Competition.
4-4:30 PM: Discover aquatic invertebrates on a Pond Dip or test your searching skills with a Nature Scavenger Hunt.
5 PM: If you registered for the Ultimate Relay, it’s time for a full grounds, nature center challenge.
6 PM: Wind down with a cozy campfire.

Camp activities include:

  • Dig for Prizes: What goodies can you find hidden in the sand?
  • Water Play: On a hot July day, who doesn’t like to get wet?
  • Air Pressure Rockets: Will you build the rocket that will launch the furthest? Or the highest?
  • Tie-Dye Fun: Bring an item or we’ll provide a bandana for you to tie dye your own.
  • Nature Scavenger Hunt: Search high and low for the items on the list. First team to complete wins.
