Vacation Day: Great Backyard Bird Count at ALNC!
February 19, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
$10 – $55Every year, people from all over the country come together to count birds for the Great American Backyard Bird Count, a citizen science project that monitors bird populations. Each checklist submitted helps researchers at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology learn more about how birds are doing, and how to protect them and the environment we share. In addition to collect this info, we’ll hike using binoculars to search for birds, fill bird feeders, and have all sorts of feathery fun!
Cost: $55/child for full day (9am-4pm)
Please pack a sack lunch. AM and PM snacks provided.
Additional info:
— Vacation Day programming is designed for ages 5-12. Attendees will be split into groups according to age so material may be adjusted accordingly.
— Please send your child with appropriate clothing to spend the majority of the day outdoors and bug spray and/or sunscreen if appropriate.
Extended Day is available from 8-9am and 4-5:30pm at an additional cost.
