Incorporating the Welcoming Schools Kindness curriculum in their plans this month, the OAKS After-School students made pop up cards to celebrate friendship! ![]()

They started the activity by reading a book in small groups in order to pick a quote they like. Many students chose sentences with kind words, such as “You are my family”, “You’re brave and clever”, or “We have a lot in common”![]()

Then, the OAKS picked two colorful pieces of cardstock for their craft. They helped each other decide how to cut, fold, and glue the two pieces of cardstock to create the pop up effect. The last step was to decorate the card and write the quote inside.![]()
