Gratitude rocks!![]()

Last week, the OAKS After-School students decorated stones to express their gratitude for the natural world. ![]()

They started with a rock hunt around the Nature Center, each selecting 5 rocks to decorate. After the students found their perfect rocks, they brought them back to the classroom, where the students looked through a wide variety of magazines and calendars to find animals, plants, and colors that brought them joy. Then, they used hole punches in fun shapes and scissors to cut these elements out. ![]()

The next step was to decorate the rocks using their magazine clippings and glue. Some students enjoyed using images of salamanders to give their rocks little heads, while others used flowers and tree punches to make brightly colored rocks. ![]()
This week, the students will hide their gratitude stones around the Nature Center, so keep your eyes peeled for some rocky spots of color!![]()
