Buggin’ Out Month in the Exhibits

Each month, our interactive exhibits will feature a different theme and offer special activities on the weekends for all ages along with new presentations in the Science On a Sphere and much more!

Immerse yourself into the insect world as you get up close and personal with this centipede, grub, and friends.
Cicada Life Cycle – Immersion Theater – all weekend
Cicadas emerge from underground once every 17 years and undergo an incredible transformation in one night! Watch this cicada nymph shed its exoskeleton and transform into an adult in the time-lapsed sequence.
Insect Inspection – Nina Leopold Bradley Family Phenology Center – All Weekend
Use our insect ID guides and phenology tools to inspect and identify insects from Wisconsin and beyond!
Fireworks – Science on a Sphere – All Weekend
In honor of Independence Day, see our Science on a Sphere lit up with brilliant fireworks all month long!

“Puzzling Pond Critters” public program on Sunday, June 20, 10am-2pm
(extra fee for this program)
Join us to spend your morning at the pond! This easy trek will take you to the pond where we’ll meet some of its residents! Our naturalists will show you how to use nets to catch and identify the critters that live, breathe, and eat underwater. Program will be conducted outdoors, rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. Pre-registration recommended; walk-ins accepted. Click here to find out more or to register for this program.
Admission into the exhibits and themed activities is FREE for ALNC Members and $5.50/person for Non-Members.
