Home School (Age 9-14): Communities

Aldo Leopold wrote: “When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.” What things do you view as part of your community?  Plants? Animals? People? Businesses? During this program, we define, compare and contrast different types of communities and explore the different natural communities found at the Nature Center. The pond, marsh, prairie and woodland are ripe with opportunities for community exploration.
9-14 year olds will compare community and ecosystem resilience.  What lessons can people learn from nature?

For all sessions, registration deadline is 48 hours prior to the class. This is done to allow for ALNC to plan for small group sizes and staffing needs. Please call (608)-216-9370 to inquire about space if trying to register within the 48 hours prior to a program.
