Mighty Mushrooms!
Join Krystal Drinkwater of Hoey Apothecary at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center for a workshop about mushrooms and their medicinal properties.
Medicinal mushrooms have been used for thousands of years for a plethora of purposes. They are packed with important nutrients such as vitamin D, vitamin B6, selenium, potassium, and more. Their immunomodulating properties can help support our immune systems; they offer powerful support to our brain health and cognitive functions; they are a rich source of antioxidants.
In this workshop, Krystal will discuss Reishi, Cordyceps, Chaga, Turkey Tail, Maitake, and Lion’s Mane. If you want to get the most out of these ‘mighty fun-guys,’ it’s important to understand various forms and the best ways to use them.
This workshop is presented by Krystal Drinkwater, staff herbalist at Hoey Apothecary. Krystal is a Health & Wellness Associate and staff herbalist at Hoey. She trained with Kathleen Wildwood at Wildwood Institute in Verona and with Bob Linde and Renee Crozier-Prince at Traditions School of Herbal Studies in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is trained in the use of Western and Chinese herbs and diagnostics.
A photographer may be onsite to document this event. If you would not like your photo taken, please advise the photographer. Thank you!
