Take some time this weekend to find a spot to sit and experience nature. ![]()

Sit spots are places in nature where you can sit and immerse yourself in what's happening around you. Some of the benefits of using a sit spot are increased focus as well as improved faculties and mental health. ![]()

Where should your sit spot be?![]()

A sit spot should be a comfortable and easily accessible space outside or, on rainy days, next to a window. It can be anywhere that you’d like to spend a lot of time. ![]()

What do you do when you're there?![]()

Once in your sit spot, examine your surroundings. What does it smell like, sound like, feel like? Are there new flowers growing? What kind of bird is in the tree? Ask yourself questions. Why are the flowers growing in that spot? What are the birds communicating with their calls? Learn about the space that you are in. Write your observations and questions down or just tuck them away in your brain to ponder later. ![]()

Visit your sit spot regularly. Take note of what changes and what stays the same. You’ll start to notice things that you wouldn’t have ever noticed before. ![]()
