Eastern bluebirds nest in tree cavities previously used by other birds, such as woodpeckers, or in nest boxes built by humans. The male attracts a female to a nesting site by carrying materials in and out of the hole, perching, and fluttering his wings. The female does the rest of the work, weaving the nest together.![]()
