Trailside Backpacks are available year-round and designed for individuals and groups as a self-guided learning opportunity as they explore the Aldo Leopold Nature Center trails and beyond. Backpacks are full of tools such as ID books, binoculars, seasonal activities and other tools to explore our natural world.![]()

Thanks to the generous support from the Monona Tourism Commission, this program is FREE and the backpacks are available in multiple locations. Check your Trailside Backpack out at the Monona Public Library or borrow one directly at the Nature Center, either at the front desk or from the outside cabinet located by the West entrance.![]()
