NATURE SCHOOL
Join us and add environmental education to your homeschool curriculum! Nature School is a drop-off program designed for children 5-12 years old. Families have the option to choose to attend 1 day/week (Wednesday afternoon) or 2 days per week (Tuesday & Thursday mornings). Nature School uses an emergent-style curriculum, where weekly experiences are based both on child interest and the natural world. Our goals are to further develop resiliency, creativity, inquiry, play, and social-emotional learning with nature as a foundation. Programs are typically held outdoors but have access to indoor learning spaces when needed. For questions or additional information, please email us at homeschool@aldoleopoldnaturecenter.org.
Program Objectives
To use nature as a teaching tool to:
- Encourage risky play, sparking resilience, igniting creativity, building physical strength, and sharpening social skills
- Foster a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world, leading to admiration and respect for the environment
REGISTRATION AND OFFERINGS
NEW! Registration is for the full school year (September 2025-May 2026). Nature school will be using an app called Brightwheel for billing and family communication. Brightwheel is an app that can be downloaded on your phone, and it’s also accessible on a web browser. You will receive more information after you complete registration.

Program Dates and Times
- Tuesday/Thursday 9am-12pm: September 9th, 2025 – May 14th, 2026
Cost: $1,885, $200 due at registration
4 payments of $421.25 on August 5, November 5, February 5, and May 5 - Wednesday 12:30pm-3:30pm: September 10th- May 13th
Cost: $942.50, $200.50 due at registration
4 payments of $185.50 on August 5, November 5, February 5, and May 5 - No classes: 11/25-11/27, 12/16-1/12, 3/23-4/3
GROUPING
Older and younger students will be grouped by age when applicable to allow for age-appropriate topic exploration. If your child has a friend or sibling of a similar age they would like to be grouped with, please let us know in your registration.
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
- A non-refundable $200 payment is needed to complete registration
- 4 quarterly payments due on August 5, November 5, February 5, and May 5
- We do have a limited amount of financial assistance available

CANCELLATION POLICY
Please email homeschool@aldoleopoldnaturecenter.org if you need to disenroll during the school year. Notify us at least 2 weeks prior to the payment due dates listed above so we can cancel any future payments. ALNC does not refund for child absences or weather related closures.
