Our facility is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm, and from 10am to 2pm on weekends.

Visit us. Everyday, our trails are free and open from dawn until dusk.

Our facility will be closed on Friday, July 4th in celebration of the Fourth of July.

Our building will reopen to the public at 10am on Saturday, July 5th.

Nature Preschool starts next week... Which means the ALNP Educators are back in the building!!
Setting up their classrooms to be welcoming and engaging, making daily schedules to ease transitions and breaks, refreshing themselves on policies and procedures, and learning about early literacy standards and supporting the whole child... These Educators are committed to providing each preschooler and their family the best possible experience as they grow in nature and with each other at ALNP. 🫶

In their last week of camp, the Sprouts went on an outdoor adventure!
With a smaller group compared to the rest of summer, the Sprouts decided to save their planned activity for later and go on a spontaneous hike. The group of three campers took advantage of their smaller size by stopping to explore every little thing that caught their eye.
It all started with clumps of cut grass scattered across the Juniper field. The Sprouts thought it was the perfect material for building nests, and each camper built their own. Leaves, acorns, and dandelions became treasures they shared and traded along the hike. The campers took time to smell the flowers and watched the bees busy at work.
After their hike, they had a little extra time before lunch. The group sat under a tree to play a game of charades. One camper pretended to be an animal, while the others guessed which one. Once they were tired of the game, they climbed on the play structure until it was time to eat.
Small groups can mean BIG fun.

We'll take a late summer hike (with a friendly scavenger hunt...there will be prizes) to discover, for yourself, the magic of the prairie, pond, and woodlands.
Afterwards, join us inside the Aldo Leopold Nature Center for light refreshments and a meet and greet as we welcome Lizzie Condon, major gifts manager, the newest addition to the Aldo Leopold Nature Center team.
