Pond Critter Exploration

June 7 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

One event on June 7, 2026 at 10:00am

Join us for a fun-filled day of hands-on pond explorations and get a close-up look at pond critters.

Come to Outdoor Learning Lab 1 on the west side of our building (follow signs for the Nature Center’s side entrance) to see what macroinvertebrates hide beneath the pond’s surface. After investigating what our Environmental Educators have caught, feel free to take a net and hike down to the pond to try catching your own pond critters!

This event is part of Nature Everywhere Weekend, June 5–7, featuring free, family-friendly events throughout the Madison area. The weekend includes a wide variety of outdoor activities for all ages, including nature scavenger hunts, birding hikes, bike rides, sensory hikes, canoe rides, yoga classes, and more.
