Fire Cider for the Winter Months with Laura Ash
October 19, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Fire Cider is a traditional cold remedy with deep roots in folk medicine. The tasty combination of vinegar infused with powerful immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, decongestant, and spicy circulatory movers makes this recipe especially pleasant and easy to incorporate into your daily diet to help boost the immune system, stimulate digestion, and get you nice and warmed up on cold days.
In this class we will prepare Fire Cider with medicinal foods and local roots to help boost your immune system. Holding on to tradition we bury it for 4 weeks, decant it, and then it will be ready for daily use. Each attendee will leave with 1 pint of fire cider and have a lot of fun!
This class will be offered in partnership with ALNC and hosted by Laura Ash, a Clinical Herbalist. Laura studied at The California School of Herbal Studies focusing on western herbalism, aromatherapy, whole food nutrition and Ayurveda. She is currently running her clinical herbal medicine private practice in Madison, WI.
Cost $25. Pre-registration is required. To register, email Laura at laura.herbalist@gmail.com.
