Join us for a busy Saturday at the Nature Center! ![]()

First, let’s talk about water quality for our Quarterly Earth Day event from 10am to Noon. This event will explore the importance of wetland ecosystems and keeping our waterways clean, while discussing water quality and what that means. To put these ideas into practice, participants will perform a pond dip, recording a biotic index, and test the water quality of the nature center’s pond by performing pH and turbidity tests. The event will finish off with some refreshing sun tea, brewed from foraged prairie plants. This event is hosted in collaboration with the Monona East Side Business Alliance (MESBA), and the Clean Lakes Alliance ![]()
Also starting at 10am, there is a Bird and Nature Adventure, meeting at the Children’s Shack. Naturalist Alex Singer will lead a hike through the nature center to Edna Taylor Conservation Area, while sharing about the fascinating world of insects. Come prepared to learn about butterflies, bees, and so many more six-legged friends. ![]()
