Public Events

Engage with us and the community at one of our public events!

Throughout the changing seasons, the Aldo Leopold Nature Center (ALNC) provides public events designed to engage, educate, and empower visitors of all ages. Public opportunities include volunteer work days, nature outings, seasonal events, and more.

For information on our upcoming public events, please check out our Events Calendar!

LAND STEWARDS

Interested in helping restore and maintain ALNC’s prairie, wetlands, and woodlands? Become a volunteer land steward! Held the second Saturday of the month, April through October, Land Steward Work Days provide an opportunity for people to come together to control invasive species, seed with native plants, get dirty, and have some fun!

Volunteers meet at 10am outside the West Entry doors, near the Children’s shack, for an orientation. Pre-registration is not required but strongly encouraged. Check out our Events Calendar to find the next Land Steward Work Day and register.

BIRD & NATURE ADVENTURES

Join a naturalist for an easy, family-friendly walk from Aldo Leopold Nature Center into Edna Taylor Conservation Park and enjoy a bit of nature education along the way. Held the fourth Saturday of every month from 10 to 11:30 am, Bird & Nature Adventures are free outings with no registration required.

WORKSHOPS

Yoga with Mala Yoga: Join us in the lobby for an early morning yoga class led by Mala Yoga Center. Held every Tuesday, from 6:45 to 7:45 am, this gentle flow practice invites you to connect with your breath, body, and the natural world around you. This event is $15 for Mala Yoga non-members and $10 for Mala Yoga members. Check out our Events Calendar to find the next yoga class and register.
