Building Closed
July 17
Our facility will be closed on Friday, July 17 due to poor air quality. Our building will reopen to the public at 10am on Saturday, July 18. Everyday, our trails are free and open from dawn until dusk.
Have you spotted any tall, spiky flowers blooming in the prairie? It may be Culver’s root!
‘Veronicastrum virginicum’ features a smooth, round central stem surrounded by 3-7 whorled leaves. Its distinctive appearance is often likened to a candelabra. Culver’s root can grow up to 6 feet tall!
If you are interested in supporting our pollinators, like bees and butterflies, consider planting Culver’s root, which is a pollinator favorite!
