ALNC UPDATES

We are ready to welcome the public back to our facility on weekdays (Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm),
with weekend public hours coming in the future.

Because we are a childcare facility and still following public health protocols, we will retain a few restrictions, including requiring masking indoors and limited access to some public offerings and areas of our facility. We may also have to adjust our hours or access on short notice. We appreciate your patience as we work through changes in staffing and schedules, and work to find a healthy balance of access and safety for our community.

As always, our grounds and trails featuring self-guided tours are free and open daily from dawn until dusk.

Land Steward Work Day: Tree Planting Workshop with ECO Tree

May 14 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Join us for a very special Land Steward Work Day!

Co-hosted by ECO Tree Company, this free program is for volunteers of all ages interested in rolling up their sleeves and digging in dirt! Learn about tree installation and maintenance with guidance from an ECO Tree Certified Arborist and get some hands-on experience as we work together to plant native evergreens on nature center grounds.

Pre-registration is not required, but strongly encouraged.

Volunteers should meet at 10am outside the West Entry doors, near the Children’s shack, for an orientation. Work days typically take place rain or shine, although they may be modified or cancelled depending on the project and conditions. Basic tools and supplies will be provided. Please bring water bottles and wear work clothes appropriate for the weather. Limited access to facilities for restrooms and water refills will be available.

These work projects involve physical tasks geared towards older kids and adults. Younger children are welcome to attend/observe at the discretion of their guardian. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Groups of 5 or more should inquire with alnc@aldoleopoldnaturecenter.org to ensure we are able to accommodate your group.

Please contact us at (608) 221-0404 or at alnc@aldoleopoldnaturecenter.org for more information.
