ALNC UPDATES

Our facility will be closed on Tuesday, August 29th for a Strategic Planning Meeting for our board and staff.

As always, our grounds and trails featuring self-guided tours are free and open daily from dawn until dusk.

Welcome! Our facility is open on weekdays from 9am to 4pm and on weekends from 10am to 2pm.

Wearing a face mask indoors is optional. Because we are a childcare facility and follow public health protocols, we have limited access to some public offerings and areas of our facility. We appreciate your patience as we work to find a healthy balance of access and safety for our community.

Nature Healing Hike

August 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Take a break from your busy day with a peaceful, evening hike!

On Wednesday the 16th, from 6 to 8pm, meet Naturalists Stephanie Briand and Tara Dary at the Children’s Shack for a free, fun, and relaxing hike. We’ll hike through the ALNC grounds, while exploring the theme: ‘Nature Healing’. As we admire the beautiful blooms in the prairie, we will talk about their medicinal properties and edible uses. We will also collect a few plants to make tea around a campfire for a closing discussion about healing in nature and spending time outside.

This special event is a training project for Stephanie and Tara as they complete the Wisconsin Master Naturalist Program. The Wisconsin Master Naturalists are a network of well-informed volunteers dedicated to conservation education and service within Wisconsin communities. Join them on their journey to become Master Naturalists!

No registration required.
