Unleash the power of plants! This month, learn about global energy crops, cuting-edge biofuel research here in Wisconsin, and how these renewable living energy sources are part of the climate solution.
Special programs and activities include:
Exciting films throughout the exhibits including Cellulosic Ethanol, an animated film from the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center; Innovation Nation, focused on new biofuel innovations; and Harvesting for Fuel, one farmer’s story of how his 190-year-old family farm became part of a sustainable renewable
energy pipeline!
Energy Planet – Science on a Sphere Presentation: captivating spherical visualizations of renewable energy technologies like switchgrass biofuels!
Fields of Fuel Interactive Game: a roleplaying game where you are a corn or switchgrass farmer!

Talk & Walk: Plant Power with Dr. John Greenler

Hike through our prairie and learn about the potential for prairies and native grasslands to produce sustainable biofuels and mitigate climate change with Dr. John Greenler, Director of Education and Outreach at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center. (In case of inclement weather, this talk will take place in ALNC’s Orientation Theater).
