Prairie Seed Harvest

October 21, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Fall is the season of seeds!

Join us on Saturday, October 21st from 10am to Noon at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center to harvest native prairie flower seeds. Following a seed harvesting demonstration, where we’ll discuss why we harvest, how we harvest and identify specific species to harvest, it’s your turn to trek through the prairie, collecting prairie flower seeds. We’ll close the event by gathering around a fall fire, sharing stories with a cup of warm cider.

This family-friendly land stewardship event is geared towards all ages. Spend a crisp fall morning outside, connecting with one another and the land, as well as this important source of life in the prairie, seeds!

Registration is strongly encouraged.
