A big thank you to the high school students who volunteered with us last week as part of the Wisconsin Future Farmers of America Day of Service!
These dedicated students worked hard to improve our habitats by removing invasive species—cutting honeysuckle and pulling crown vetch from the prairie—and clearing excess growth in the bioswale. Their efforts will help the native seeds and shrubs we’ve planted become established and thrive.
We truly enjoyed working alongside this enthusiastic group. Students were eager to learn about the plants and wildlife found here, and some had even studied the work of Aldo Leopold!
Thank you for your hard work, curiosity, and commitment to caring for the natural world.
