Rainbows appear when light from the sun hits water droplets in the sky at a 42 degree angle. They are most commonly seen after it rains because rain creates just the right conditions needed to form a rainbow, though you can also find rainbows around fog, seaspray, and waterfalls. Sunlight appears white to us but it’s actually a spectrum of colors. When sunlight is reflected, we are able to perceive all of the colors. That’s why rainbows are so colorful!![]()
