Our facility will be closed on Thursday, July 4th, and Friday, July 5th in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
Our building will reopen to the public at 10am on Saturday, July 6th.

As always, our grounds and trails featuring self-guided tours are free and open daily from dawn until dusk.

Wonder Bugs On the Road

THIS PROGRAM IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PLAY & LEARN

Wonder Bugs On the Road is offered through Madison Metropolitan School District’s (MMSDs) Play & Learn (PaL) program. Every month, we offer the program at no cost to PaL families at each PaL site.

Program Objectives

To use nature as a teaching tool to:

  • Provide opportunities for young children throughout our community to engage with the natural world without the barriers of cost, language, or transportation
  • Build on physical abilities and cognitive skills, sparking curiosity and better preparing for preschool settings
  • Foster a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world, leading to admiration and respect for the environment
