As always, our grounds and trails featuring self-guided tours are free and open daily from dawn until dusk.

Monona Founder’s Day Celebration at ALNC

Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the City of Monona with a very special Founder’s Day Celebration!

Listen to live music, shop the craft vendors, feast on tasty foods and participate in a variety of FREE activities for all ages!!

  • Hands-on pioneer activities for all ages
  • Live music from local Irish and Americana band The Black Velvet
  • Native American drummers
  • Chainsaw carving demonstrations by GET Carving (1:30 & 3:30pm)
  • Try your hand throwing pottery on the wheel with Fired Up Pottery (1 & 3pm)
  • Delicious free ice cream courtesy of Ken’s Meats & Deli
  • Old-fashioned “Monona Through the Years” photo booth (we provide the backdrops and props – please bring your camera to take photos!)
  • 360° views of Monona in the immersion theater
  • Exciting presentations in the Science On a Sphere
  • Naturalist-guided hikes through ALNC’s prairie
