Our facility will be closed on Thursday, July 4th, and Friday, July 5th in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
Our building will reopen to the public at 10am on Saturday, July 6th.

As always, our grounds and trails featuring self-guided tours are free and open daily from dawn until dusk.

Cub Scouts

Bring your scouts to the Aldo Leopold Nature Center to work towards a variety of badges, adventures, and awards. From Lions to Webelos, we’ll help you explore and learn all about the outdoors!

Fee: $50/educator per 1.5 hour program or $67/educator per 2 hour program. Full payment is due the day of the program. Any late payments may result in a $25 late payment fee. See “booking” section for 2-hour option.

Ratio: Lions, Tigers and Wolf Cubs = 10 scouts/educator; Bear Cubs and up = 12 scouts/educator

Booking: When booking, select a start time of either 10 am or 1 pm and then select the end time of 11:30 pm or 2:30 pm (1.5 hours after the start time). This will make the reserve button appear. Select “RESERVE” to move forward in the booking process. Note: you must select either 10 am or 1 pm, then select either 11:30 am or 2:30 pm to get the “RESERVE” button to appear. The system will NOT move forward if you select a different start time or make the party less than 1.5 hours.

Looking for a 2-hour scout program? The fee increases to $67/educator per 2 hour program. Book a 1.5 hour program through the system above and contact scouts@aldoleopoldnaturecenter.org to extend your booking.

Weather Policy: Please dress for the weather and the season; all programs have outdoor components and are held rain or snow or shine! In the case of thunder, lightning, or extreme weather, alternate indoor activities will be provided. In the rare event that ALNC does cancel a program, we will issue a full refund or reschedule.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Program cancellations require at least one weeks notice. Programs cancelled after that time will be charged the full amount.

CUB SCOUT SPECIAL AWARDS

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AWARD | Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos
Cub Scouts may earn the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award in each of the program years as long as the requirements are completed each year. Leaders should encourage scouts to build on skills and experiences from previous years when working on the award for a successive year.

*Participate in a conservation project by joining a Land Steward Work Day (March-November)

WORLD CONSERVATION AWARD | Wolves, Bears, Webelos
The World Conservation Award provides an opportunity for individual scouts to “think globally” and “act locally” to preserve and improve our environment. This program is designed to make youth members aware that all nations are closely related through natural resources and that we and our world environment are interdependent.
Wolves – meets requirements: 1, 3, 4*;
Bears – meets requirements: 1, 4*;
Webelos – meets requirements: 2, 3, 4, 6*

*Participate in a conservation project by joining a Land Steward Work Day (March-November)
